If you would like to purchase one of the following Arias, please leave a message in the comment section that includes your TBW username and the name of the mei tai you would like to buy. If there is more than one request for the same carrier, I will contact the first to leave a response, and go down the list from there. If you have a second choice, you can mention that as well.

Payment is expected within 8 hours. If there are others waiting, I will move on to them after that time.

Shipping to the US and Canada is $8.00 and $20.00 everywhere else.

Updates and Changes

I have three mei tais that I will be posting for sale soon. I was intending to get a couple more made, but I think I better just get these out first. We’ve had a busy couple months house hunting and doing everything that goes along with buying a house, so (as usual) I just haven’t had as much time in my life to devote to sewing as I’d like.

Because of some changes, for the time being, I am not negatively impacted by the CPSIA legislation, so I will try to continue making some Arias from time to time.

Since I just don’t have the time to approach this as a business however, I’ve decided to let my domain name go. If you are used to accessing this blog from www.ariababy.com, please make sure that you now type in www.ariababy.wordpress.com, and if you need to contact me, please either do so through PM at TBW – my username is katmarie – or email me at katieosborne at gmail dot com.

Rather than using HC, I’m also just going to post carriers for sale here on my blog. If you would like to purchase a posted carrier, leave a comment on that post that includes your TBW username, and I will send you payment information. Payment is expected within 8 hours. After this time, if there are others interested in the carrier, I will move on to them. I am hoping this will simplify things for me, not make them more complicated. We’ll see!

If you are concerned about missing carrier postings, just make sure you subscribe to my RSS feed. I will also post here and VFSOT the day before I intend to sell something to give you a heads up.

Much Needed Update

I made it through some awful morning sickness and then the holidays. Now, I am finally working on some new Arias which I’ll be selling in a few weeks. This will likely be my last stocking unless the CPSIA guidelines are altered. Check back for more specific updates about the stocking date.

Stocking Update

Hello Everyone.

I have had a lot of inquiries over the last month as to when I’ll be stocking again. I had been planning on stocking a couple custom spots at the end of September, but well,  I am home to a new little bean, and it’s been pretty rough the last few weeks. This is a good thing, since I often miscarry and never get very sick with those pregnancies. But even in light of my history, it is hard to be thankful for feeling so sick!

I currently have two customs I need to get done, and I would really like to have a couple spots to offer on the HC soon. So, just bear with me here. I think it is best that I work through the two I have before committing to more at this time. Hopefully, I will be able to put a couple things up sometime this month.

Stocking Next Week

Five Arias are waiting for new homes with great anticipation.

I need to get my hyenacart set up, and then we’ll be ready to go.

My hope is to do an evening stocking on Tuesday the 19th. I will be out of town the second half of the week, and I’d love to send these off before I go.

So, as long as all goes well with getting my store to a presentable, or at least halfway presentable, point, that’s the plan.

Skylark

This one is off to a new home. Charcoal brushed canvas with Anna Maria Horner’s Blue Sketchbook.

“Skylark” is an old jazz standard.

Allegro

I didn’t really capture the crispness and brightness of these greens. I’ll have to try again in a different light because it looks more lively in real life than in this picture.

Allegro is a quick and lively tempo.

Sway

Sway is the title of a mambo song made popular by singers like Rosemary Clooney and Dean Martin. This fabric has such a retro, cocktail vibe; it seemed appropriate.

Vivace

Vivace is a musical directive that means vivacious, flourishing, lively.

Tosca

I have always loved the art deco posters of Puccini’s operas. This fabric reminds me so much of Tosca.

Dolce

Dolce, made from Joel Dewberry’s Ivory Orchid and Flax Wildflowers on organic espresso straps, will not be for sale. It is already spoken for, but I thought I’d share it. Look for more from this fabric line soon.

Dolce is a musical directive that means sweetly and tenderly.

ETA: Dolce gets a makeover.

I got ahead of myself when making this one originally, and it now has a new hood.

Daphne

Inspiration for the name: Daphne is an opera by Richard Strauss. It’s about a girl who loves nature and has no interest in human romance. In the end, Apollo asks Zeus to transform her into a tree, and she is united with nature.

The Future Of Aria Baby

I know some of you are asking, “when is she going to start stocking some MTs?!?!” I apologize for my snail-like pace during the testing process. I promise that I will be wrapping things up soon. Just trying to tweak something to make a comfier back carry, which we all want, right?

I have come to realize a lot of things over the last several months. I have been wrestling with my desire for a business – an enterprise all my own from which I can derive satisfaction and pride – and my desire to be a completely present mom and wife. And, well, if it’s a choice between the two, family wins, hands down.

I don’t think it has to be one or the other, but I’ve come to terms with the fact that I am not in a place in my life where I can jump into a business with abandon. I just have too many other responsibilities and things I want to enjoy. So, I am not going to be pursuing Aria Baby as a business with the intention of growing bigger right now. Maybe down the road.

So, my plan is to keep it as simple as possible for the time being. I will be stocking a few mei tais a month and offering an occasional custom spot as well. Location of stocking is TBD. This will allow me to continue creating and providing a service to you all while ensuring that my home and family are not neglected.
